Important Message from Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival
The first few days of July brought devastating flooding to the City of Dauphin and the surrounding Parkland region. Homes, businesses, farms, roads, and critical infrastructure were significantly impacted, and the City of Dauphin, the RM of Dauphin, and several neighbouring municipalities have all declared local States of Emergency.
Although the Selo Festival Site, which is located within the RM of Dauphin was not directly affected by flooding, the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, including the Emergency Department sustained severe damage and is currently closed, and it will not reopen prior to, or during our festival. Emergency healthcare services have been relocated to rural communities more than 30 minutes away, creating significant challenges in providing timely medical care for our large event.
After consulting with the City of Dauphin, the RM of Dauphin, local MLA, Member of Parliament, and our insurance provider, our Board of Directors has determined that we cannot confidently provide the safe environment our performers, patrons, volunteers, sponsors, vendors and staff deserve.
It is with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival for 2026. This includes scheduled festival events at the Selo Festival Site and the annual Parade in the City of Dauphin.
All 2026 purchased, day, weekend, camping passes and donated passes can be rolled over and used for our 2027 Festival, or you may choose to be refunded for purchased passes. Information regarding the rollover and refund process will be posted on our website, and social media, in the coming days.
Our board of directors extends its sincerest gratitude to our performers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, partners, staff, and loyal festival supporters, for your patience, understanding, and continued support during this challenging time.
Our hearts remain with everyone across the Parkland region, who have been impacted by flooding, and the local State of Emergency. We look forward to welcoming all of you back to the Selo Festival site in 2027.
