Barvinok Ukrainian Dance School

For 57 years, the Barvinok Ukrainian Dance School has provided traditional dance instruction to generations of Ukrainians in Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area. Today, we are proud to teach over 560 students of all ages. Our school remains committed to celebrating Ukrainian heritage, expanding cultural diversity in Canada, and strengthening our community’s identity.

Since February 2022, Barvinok has welcomed many newcomers from Ukraine. Last year, we successfully staged our 56th Annual Concert featuring 530 students. We also remain dedicated to international outreach and humanitarian efforts. In the summer of 2024, over 50 of our dancers toured four East Coast provinces through the “UNBROKEN UKRAINE” charity project. This tour spanned seven cities and raised $62,000 CAD to support the “UNBROKEN” Rehabilitation Centre in Lviv, which assists those affected by the ongoing war.

Most recently, in the summer of 2025, Barvinok toured Europe, performing in Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, and Poland. During this tour, including our performance at the Lemko Vatra festival, our mission was to express sincere gratitude to those supporting Ukraine during this difficult time.

We are truly grateful to the CNUF committee for the opportunity to participate in the Dauphin Festival this year. We look forward to sharing our traditions with you.
