The Parkland Region of Manitoba has produced another great band now performing under the name The Drifting Cossacks. Based in the communities of Grandview and Gilbert Plains (about 30 km directly west of Dauphin, MB.), the band is within easy reach of most parts of Manitoba, and beyond.
Billing themselves as an “Old Thyme Ukrainian & Country Band,” The Drifting Cossacks are readily available for any occasion, including: Weddings, Socials, Festivals, Malankas, Old Time Dances, Reunions and Anniversaries. The band members enjoy playing for the love of music, and they are dedicated to keeping traditions alive with down to earth, toe tapping, foot stamping, old-time Ukrainian music and old-time country.
The band has already played several functions where the audience reaction to their performances has been very positive. In fact, The Drifting Cossacks released their debut CD album “Zabava Favorites” at the 53rd edition of CNUF in 2018.
The band consists of,
Andy Zamonsky – Fiddle
Jeremy Sytnick – Accordion, Bass, Guitars
Dan Kozak – Accordion, Tsymbaly, Keyboards, Guitar, Lead Vocals
Ed Dobranski – Drums
Trevor Hale – Guitars
